The Campóo
valley ´gravitates` arround its capital, Reinosa, where
we can try and enjoy the ´Campurriano` cooking: Olla ferroviaria
( stew made in the railway workers` way) Patatas con costilla(
potatoes with pork ribs), chuleton de novilla ( veal steak),
heather honey, and mushrooms. It is also remarkable the mountain
cattle.
There are very good honey-makers or producers in Villar , Abiada
and Celada. |

| This region is also known for its pastry
and biscuits. Traditional produces such as Pantortillas and
Hojaldres (traditional cakes). There is a tradition in making
marmelade and jams from berries. In the same way, this region´s
bread is popular in other places around. In some parts of Argüeso
it is made using firewood. |

Among other well known produces of the
region , we can try the beef and other meats from Campóo
(calf and veal
) this animals have been raised in a natural
environment.
Other produce worth trying is cheese , generally made of cow
milk., made in small family workshops that have been recovered
thanks to the support of the cheese workshop school of Reinosa.
We can find this type of Cheese factories very well indicated
along the road to Alto Campóo. Also,we can find them
in Entrambasaguas, Celada de los Calderones and Valderredible
. There is another one in Ruerrero. |
